LSU Law team wins Louisiana Battle of the Law Schools Mock Trial Competition

A team of LSU Law students bested teams from the Southern University Law Center, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and Mississippi College of Law to win the Louisiana Battle of the Law Schools Mock Trial Competition on Sunday, Oct. 27. The LSU Law team included Raegan Elizabeth Thanh Nguyen, Taylor Guice, Desiree Perkins, and Will Wood, all of whom are third-year law students. Guice, who won the Fall 2024 Flory Mock Trail last month, also took home the Best Overall Advocate award during the final round of competition on Sunday. The LSU Law team entered the final round…

Lord, Briscoe team up for Fall 2024 Tullis Moot Court Competition title

LSU Law students Kiley Lord and Halli Briscoe won the Fall 2024 Robert L. Tullis Moot Court Competition on Monday evening, Oct. 21. The team of second-year students bested fellow 2Ls Reese Kelso and Garrett Powell in the final round of competition, which was held in the Robinson Courtroom at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Sons of alumnus John T. Cox (’68) establish scholarship in parents’ honor with gift to LSU Law

The sons of John T. (’68) and Tracey Cox have made a gift to the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center to establish a non-endowed scholarship in honor of the Shreveport couple. Trey and Stephen Cox made the gift in recognition of the legacy and values their parents instilled in them. Over the next eight years, the John and Tracey Cox Scholarship will cover roughly half of one LSU Law student’s tuition for an academic year. LSU Law 3L Philip Young places second nationally in ABA Labor & Employment Writing Competition

LSU Law graduates achieve highest passage rate on Louisiana Bar Exam for first-time and all takers, July 2024 results show

With 83.1% of LSU Law graduates passing the Louisiana Bar Exam on their first attempt, the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center achieved the highest pass rate among all Louisiana law schools on the July 2024 exam, according to newly released results from the Committee on Bar Admission of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
