A team of LSU Law students bested teams from the Southern University Law Center, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and Mississippi College of Law to win the Louisiana Battle of the Law Schools Mock Trial Competition on Sunday, Oct. 27.

The LSU Law team included Raegan Elizabeth Thanh Nguyen, Taylor Guice, Desiree Perkins, and Will Wood, all of whom are third-year law students. Guice, who won the Fall 2024 Flory Mock Trail last month, also took home the Best Overall Advocate award during the final round of competition on Sunday.

The LSU Law team entered the final round of competition as the top seeded team, after having gone undefeated in the preliminary rounds. The 19th Judicial District Court in downtown Baton Rouge hosted the competition, and a 19th JDC judge presided over every trial.

The LSU Law team was coached by Professor Jeff Brooks, with preparation help from Professors Bill Corbett and John Devlin.
