LSU Law Class of 2019 graduate Victoria Heyer was recently honored with the 2019 Law Student Pro Bono Award, given by the Louisiana State Bar Association. Heyer, a native of Ponchatoula, La., received the award at a ceremony May 21 at the Louisiana Supreme Court in New Orleans.
Heyer was the Pro Bono Chair of the LSU Public Interest Law Society for the 2018-19 school year and completed more than 100 hours of pro bono service.
The LSBA Law Student Pro Bono Award recognizes a law student who has demonstrated a dedication to providing legal services to the poor. Previous LSU students who have won the award include Ahmed Soussi in 2018, Lauren Bradberry in 2016, Savannah Steele in 2014, Denise Farrior in 2013, Lindsay E. Jarrell in 2012, Lilian R. Hangartner in 2011, Lynn Austin in 2010 and Leslie K. Ziober in 2009.
