LSU Law Center Chancellor John Costonis announced the award of six student fellowships as part of the Law Center’s public service initiatives. The Public Interest Law Society (PILS) fellowships were awarded to students following a competitive application process that concluded this spring.
The PILS fellows will work this summer in a wide variety of organizations in Louisiana and the nation. The fellowships provide stipends to support students while they pursue interests in serving the public sector.
LSU Law Center PILS Fellowship recipients and their summer placements are:
- William Sentell, Plan Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge)
- Betsy Franke, Texas Civil Rights Project (Austin)
- Trisha Ward, Gulf Region Advocacy Center (Houston)
- Clarence Cooper, EEOC (Washington, D.C.)
- Adia Moore, Community Legal Services (Philadelphia)
- Pascale Belizaire, Lucas County Juvenile Court (CASA Program; Toledo, OH)
