Power has been restored to the new building of the Law Center, and most of the old building. However, the Law Center will remain closed for the remainder of the weekend while officials address smoke and air quality issues in parts of the old building.
Administration asks that students and staff not come to the Law Center this weekend unless you have an emergency. If you do have an emergency, please contact Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Andi Carroll.
The Law Center will re-open for classes on Monday morning. Some class and event locations — particularly those scheduled in the old building — may need to be moved and there may also be relatively minor power issues, likely involving outlets and A/V equipment. Please be patient and flexible on Monday as staff addresses those issues.
Those with offices in the first floor of the old building will need to plan not to spend time in their offices on Monday, as staff continue to remedy smoke-related problems. You will be able to go in Monday and get items you need, but we ask that you not stay there until Tuesday. Temporary office space in the library or elsewhere in the building will be available as needed.
The LSU Law Center’s thoughts and best wishes remain with the three men injured while working today.
