Congratulations to the Law Center’s Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition team of Miesha Dunn, Samantha Gonzalez, and Keanan Parr, who took first place honors at the Gabrielli competition, which was held March 3-5 in Albany, NY!  Third-year LSU Law student Miesha Dunn was also named the competition’s Best Overall Oralist.

The Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition is sponsored by Albany Law School, and asks students to brief and argue cutting-edge issues in the realm of family law.  This year’s case file dealt with whether a sperm donor could seek parental rights under a state’s artificial insemination and third-parent statutes, and whether awarding the sperm donor parental rights would be in the best interests of the child.

The Gabrielli Family Law Moot Court team is coached by Ms. Lykisha Vaughan (’12) of the Law Office of Lykisha R. Vaughan, LLC.
