Nine out of 10 in LSU Law Class of 2022 were employed within 10 months of graduation

The latest employment and salary figures from the American Bar Association show that 90% of the graduates in the LSU Law Class of 2022 were employed within 10 months of their graduation last May.

Among them, 87% of last year’s graduates were employed in positions for which bar passage was required, and 11% were employed in positions for which a J.D. was an advantage.

The majority found employment in private practice—62%—while 13% landed judicial clerkships, 8% were working in business and industry, 5% were in public interest positions, and 2% found academic work.

Across all sectors, annual salaries of Class of 2022 alumni ranged from just under $50,000 to $300,000, with an average starting salary of $71,585. The lion’s share of 2022 graduates found work in Louisiana (123), with the next most popular states for finding employment being Texas (24) and Florida (4).
