What are your immediate career plans?
I will join Kean Miller LLP as an Associate in Baton Rouge and practice in the Mass Tort and Casualty group.
What are your long-term career aspirations?
As cliché as it may sound, I aspire to help businesses organize and execute their daily operations. Specifically, I am interested in counseling businesses on front-end liability avoidance and employment law disputes.
Please tell us about the organizations and activities you participated in at LSU Law, including any awards or honors you received.
I served as a Senior Associate on Louisiana Law Review and was a member of the Public Interest Law Society and the Christian Legal Society.
Please tell us about any LSU Law faculty, classes, or other experiences that were particularly impactful on your legal education.
Numerous faculty members have impacted the trajectory of my legal career, two of which are described below. Judge Guy Holdridge (’78)’s display of effortless competency is astounding. His ability to teach students to analyze legal issues practically and efficiently is second to none. He serves as a great reminder that being both lighthearted and effective is attainable. Professor(Bill) Corbett taught me Torts and Employment Law, and he is the reason I am interested in helping companies with liability avoidance and defending them in civil actions. Professor Corbett values his students’ success, and he is always willing to donate his personal time to help us.
What are your fondest memories from your time at LSU Law?
My fondest memories of law school revolve around the friendships I have been blessed with. They will undoubtedly last a lifetime. From long nights of studying and confusion, to snow skiing trips and countless matches of tennis, the last three years are full of unforgettable memories.
What advice would you give to students entering law school who aspire to become Order of the Coif members when they graduate?
Study hard today and worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Most of all, remember that you will never get these three years back, so don’t forget to have fun!
