Two LSU Law professors were promoted at the start of the Fall 2016 semester.
Elizabeth Carter received tenure and was promoted to Professor of Law, and Michael Coenen was promoted to Associate Professor of Law. These changes took effect Aug. 15.
Carter joined the Law Center faculty in 2010 and teaches estate planning; matrimonial regimes; and successions, donations and trusts at LSU.
Coenen joined the Law Center faculty in 2013, having previously served as a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. He teaches and writes in the areas of constitutional law, federal courts, criminal procedure, and administrative law. In May 2016, he received the LSU Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award.
