Keith Stanley was a member of the LSU Law Class of 2007 who set his sights on a law career early in life. However, during his first semester at the LSU Law Center in 2004, he was diagnosed with and began treatment for a rare form of lymphoma. He was unable to finish the semester and died in November 2005, just eight days after his 24th birthday.
A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, Keith was a 2000 honor graduate of Airline High School. While at Airline, some of his memberships included National Honor Society, BETA, Mock Trial Team, LA Boys State, and a LHSAA class 51 All State Golfer. He also played on the PGA Junior Tour during the summers. In 2004, he graduated from LSU with a B.S. in business administration. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. His hobbies included golf, duck hunting, fishing, reading, and activities with his friends. He also participated in various state junior tennis tournaments and was ranked in both singles and doubles.
While not completing his dream of practicing law in Louisiana, he nonetheless took the first steps to attain that dream with his admission to the LSU Law Center and subsequent attendance while fighting cancer. Keith loved LSU and was very proud to be a member of the Law Center Class of 2007.
In honor of his memory, his family and friends established an endowed scholarship in his name. It is their hope that Keith’s intelligence, talent, bravery, determination under trying circumstances, and his legacy will be honored by those who have the opportunity to utilize this scholarship to help attain their own goals through success at LSU Law.
The recipient shall be chosen by the Law Center Scholarship Committee; and preference will be given to a graduate of LSU or Louisiana Tech; and who are residents of Bossier/Caddo, Webster, Claiborne or Desoto Parishes.
