The Albert Tate, Jr. Foundation Professorship of Law was established by the LSU Board of Supervisors in 1989 in honor of the late Judge Tate who was a judge on the Louisiana Court of Appeal, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. This professorship was made possible by donations from numerous friends of the late Judge Albert Tate, Jr. through the efforts of the Albert Tate, Jr. Foundation.
