Edgar F. Barnett Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Edgar F. Barnett Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of the late Mr. Barnett by his wife Gerry Barnett, in August 2014. Mr. Barnett graduated from the LSU Law Center in February 1958, and he also held an undergraduate degree from LSU. He had a “strong passion for all things purple and gold”. After graduating from the Law Center, Mr. Barnett moved to Lake Charles where he began a distinguished law career in maritime law. In later years, he practiced law in the Houston area and reluctantly retired in 2007.
The recipient of the Edgar F. Barnett Memorial Scholarship must be a second or third year full-time student at the Law Center, and financial need may be a consideration.
