LSU Law Student

Name: Brittanie Wagnon

Year in Law School/Graduation Year: 2L, Class of 2016

Hometown: Sugartown, Louisiana

Undergraduate University: McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA

Undergraduate Degree: Elementary Education

What I did before I went to law school: Taught third grade

Why I chose LSU Law: I liked the idea of being awarded two degrees upon graduation, and I had heard that LSU provides a top-notch education for an affordable price.

My biggest surprise about LSU Law: I was surprised by the amount the teachers care about whether or not we, as students, succeed.

Favorite class and why: My favorite class(es) so far have been Civil Procedure I and II because I like rules and methods to the madness that is law.

Favorite professor and why: My favorite professor so far has been Professor Coenen because he makes students think analytically, while guiding them through the process step by step.

Legal interests (ex: criminal law): I’ve been interested in all subjects thus far in law school.

Honors/Extracurricular Activities in law school: Louisiana Law Review, Hebert Scholar – Fall 2013, Chancellor’s Scholar – Spring 2014, CALI Award – Criminal Law, Civil Procedure I, Civil Procedure II, LSU Law Ambassador, SBA Athletics

Career Aspirations: I am not certain as to what I would like to do. I am open to all of the opportunities that my education at LSU Law has afforded to me.

Life in Baton Rouge: Baton Rouge is by far my favorite city that I have ever lived in. The atmosphere is fun, and there is not a single experience that compares to Death Valley on LSU game day. The city is large enough to always have some sort of fun activity to do, while still being small enough to make me feel at home.
