LSU Law mourns the passing of student Adam Dows

Colleagues and Students,

It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of one of our current students. We learned earlier this week that Mr. Adam Dows, a rising 3L, passed away very unexpectedly this past weekend. According to his family, he suffered an aneurysm and passed in his sleep.

His funeral will be held this Saturday, June 9 at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, with visitation beginning at 9 am and services immediately following at 11 am.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time as they deal with this tragic loss, and with all of you here at the Law Center who knew Mr. Dows. The family has very much appreciated the words of sympathy and support that they have already received from many of you. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. We are working closely with the LSU Office of Student Advocacy to assist the family, and their office is also available to anyone who would like to speak with someone privately about the grieving process. If you would like to reach out to their office, please call 225-578-4307.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to the Adam Dows Scholarship that has been established at the Law Center. Checks may be made payable to LSU Foundation, notation Adam Dows Scholarship, LSU Law Center. Gifts may also be made online at: www.lsufoundation.org/adamdows
