Kalinka/Stutes Tax Moot Court Team Wins Second Runner-Up

Law students Rebecca Luster, Kelly Burris, and Edward Waters with the Law Center’s Susan C. Kalinka/Russell J. Stutes, Jr. Tax Moot Court Team took home third place at the 2012 National Taxation Moot Court Competition that was held February 2 through 4 in Clearwater, Florida.  The competition is sponsored by the Tax Section of the Florida Bar Association, and features judges from the US Tax Court and tax attorneys from across the country. The Kalinka/Stutes Tax Team went undefeated in its preliminary rounds, ultimately placing as second runner-up at the national competition.

The Kalinka/Stutes team competed against teams from Charleston School of Law, Quinnipiac School of Law, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, the University of Florida School of Law, and Stetson University College of Law. The team is coached by Vice-Chancellor Christopher Pietruszkiewicz, Professor Elizabeth Carter, and Professor Philip Hackney.
