"I chose LSU Law Center because I was looking for an affordable school with a good academic reputation and an international perspective. I was also surprised to find students from such broad academic backgrounds."

Brandee Ketchum

Class of 2009

LSU Law Student

Background: Received bachelor of arts in marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University, graduated magna cum laude from SLU, regular panelist at the National Collegiate Honors Conference, radio host of WSIN morning show at Southern Connecticut State University, worked as advertising coordinator for The Daily Star in Hammond, member of the Louisiana Law Review as senior associate, winner of the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition, Tullis Committee co-chair, Order of the Coif, member of the LSU Public Interest Law Society.

Why Law School: I chose to go to law school to be challenged and to expand my world view.

Why LSU Law: I chose the LSU Law Center because I was looking for an affordable school with a good academic reputation and an international perspective.

The Faculty: I think many of the faculty care about helping students genuinely understand the material. I think that several of them expect great work and hard work, and that those expectations push students to do their best.

Just for Fun: I really enjoy adventure travel. I’ve been hiking, kayaking, fly fishing, cave spelunking, camel riding, rock climbing, snowshoeing, skiing … you name it, I pretty much want to try it.  Well, except for bungee jumping! I also like to read and cook, and I’m really into community volunteering and local politics. Next up is an ice climb …
