Apprenticeship Week is Coming to LSU Law!

LSU Law is pleased to announce its inaugural Apprenticeship Week, an innovative and unique new program of practical legal education. From January 6 to January 10, 2014, master lawyers and judges will teach LSU Law upperclass students in small enrollment, hands-on mini-courses. Each mini-course will aim to provide students with focused, task-oriented training not generally available in law school courses and usually available only through actual practice experience. More than 130 LSU Law 2Ls and 3Ls have submitted applications for the inaugural Apprenticeship Program.

“Apprenticeship Week is designed to serve the needs of today’s LSU Law students and to meet the demands of the profession for genuinely practical training in the law,” said LSU Law Center Chancellor Jack M. Weiss.  “We expect that Apprenticeship Week quickly will become an important part of the LSU Law tradition of demanding, yet personal, legal education.”
