LSU Law Students Achieve State's Highest Passage Rate on July 2006 Bar Exam
September 29, 2006LSU Law Center students achieved the highest passage rate among all examinees on the latest Louisiana State Bar Exam, according to results released today by the Committee on Bar Admissions for the Supreme Court of Louisiana. LSU Law students continued their traditional first place passage rate, with 91% of examinees receiving passing scores on the July 2006 administration of the Bar. Of the 201 LSU Law Center students who took the exam in July 2006, 183, or 91%, successfully passed the Bar. Author John Barry Headlines Law Center Centennial Luncheon
September 25, 2006John M. Barry, prize-winning and New York Times best-selling author, provided the keynote address at the LSU Law Center Centennial Luncheon on Friday, September 15, 2006. Barry spoke to a sold-out crowd of Law Center alumni, faculty, staff, interested government officials and community members at the Cook Conference Center. His address was titled Nature Against Man: History, Politics, and Katrina. The luncheon was one of several activities held on September 15 to commemorate the Law Center’s Centennial Celebration. LSU Law Center to Launch
September 25, 2006The LSU Law Center will celebrate the beginning of its “Second Hundred Years” at a school-wide event scheduled on the campus for Monday, September 25, 2006. Students, faculty, and staff will gather at Noon on the steps of the historic “Old Law Building” to salute the past 100 years and to launch the next 100 years of academic life for the institution. LSU Law Center Celebrates Its Centennial
September 20, 2006The LSU Law Center celebrated its 100-year Anniversary on Friday, September 15, 2006. A day of activities commemorated the historic achievements of the Law Center. Chancellor John J. Costonis welcomed dignitaries, sponsors, alumni, faculty, staff, and students to the daylong series of events. Noted guests included The Honorable John Breaux ('67 graduate), political consultant and author James Carville ('73 graduate), author John Barry, and LSU Board of Supervisors member and the 2002 LSU Law Distinguished Alumnus Charles Weems ('69 graduate), among others.
