2018 LSU Law Trial Advocacy Program for 3L students begins Aug. 6
July 26, 2018SCHEDULE Download the 2018 Trial Advocacy Program Schedule Third-year LSU Law students will “learn by doing” at the Law Center’s annual Trial Advocacy Program that begins Aug. 6. From cross examination to voir dire jury selection, students will role play and receive critiques from some of the nation’s leading experts in courtroom practices during the intensive three-day program held at the LSU Law Center. Participants will act as trial counsel and simulate actual trial skills under the experienced eyes of the select seminar faculty. LSU Law-Lyon Jean Moulin renew accord
July 18, 2018While visiting with the LSU Law Summer in Lyon Program, Dean Tom Galligan met with the Lyon Dean Hervé de Gaudemar to sign the renewal of the Accord with University Jean Moulin, which has been in place since 2003. The two schools have worked together for 15 years, allowing over the years hundreds of LSU Law students to participate in the summer program. The number of LSU Law students visiting for a longer period (semester abroad) keeps growing, some coming back to earn the Lyon LL.M. in European and International Business Law (in English). July 11, 2018Hailing from Birmingham, Ala., Melissa Lonegrass joined the LSU Law faculty in 2008 and has been a leader in the teaching of civil law and the Law Center’s Academic Tutoring Program. Why did you choose to study law in college? In college I learned quickly that what I enjoy doing most is not necessarily tied to any particular discipline. Alex Morgan ('18) honored with CLEA Outstanding Clinical Student Award
July 2, 2018LSU Law Class of 2018 graduate Alexandra Morgan recently was named the recipient of the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Student Award for her work in the Immigration Clinic, Parole Assistance and Reentry Clinic, andJuvenile Defense Clinic. While in the Immigration Clinic, Morgan, a native of Shreveport, La., prepared initial asylum applications for two clients and completed a complex supplemental filing, including a brief and index of supporting documents and country conditions evidence for a third client.
