LSU Law Alum Darrel Papillion Installed as President of the Louisiana State Bar Association

Darrel J. Papillion, a partner in the Baton Rouge law firm of Walters, Papillion, Thomas, Cullens, L.L.C., was installed June 9 as the 76th president of the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) during the LSBA’s Annual Meeting in Destin, Fla. Administering his oath of office was Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson.

The LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center is ranked in the top 50 in law schools across the nation by a pair of listings based on employment data. LSU Law is No. 43 by Above the Law and is No. 42 by National Law Journal, both rankings released in May 2016.

LSU Law Graduate Lauren Bradberry Receives LSBA Law Student Pro Bono Award

LSU Law Class of 2016 graduate Lauren Bradberry was recently honored with the 2016 Law Student Pro Bono Award, given by the Louisiana State Bar Association. Bradberry, a native of Gonzalez, La., received the award at a ceremony May 24 at the Louisiana Supreme Court in New Orleans.

Students Receive Academic Honors for Spring 2016 Semester

The LSU Law Center has announced the names of those law students who earned academic honors for the Spring 2016 semester. Fifty students were awarded the Paul M. Hebert Scholar honor, and 78 students were selected to be Dean’s Scholars.
