LSU Law students participate in ‘pilot mock trial’ with Judge deGravelles
April 21, 2021Eight LSU Law students played the roles of lawyers and witnesses in a “pilot mock trial” on April 20 with United States District Judge John deGravelles of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana to help with the development of a prototype for handling a full virtual jury trial in federal court in the future. The day-long, full virtual trial included voir dire, openings, direct and cross-examination of witnesses, evidence, closings, deliberations by a jury selected by Judge deGravelles, and a verdict. Board of Advocates announces LSU Law students selected for 2021-2022 membership, elects Executive Committee
April 12, 2021Forty-seven LSU Law students in the Class of 2022 have been selected as members of the Board of Advocates for 2021-2022, and the board members have elected members of the Executive Committee. The Board of Advocates is the Law Center’s student honor organization dedicated to the promotion and development of oral and written persuasive advocacy skills. Rising third-year law students are selected to membership on the Board of Advocates based on a holistic application that looks at a student’s success in the Law Center’s many different internal and external advocacy opportunities.
