LSU Law students “Pause for a Cause”
March 29, 2017LSU Law students and faculty members “Paused for a Cause” on March 25 when they volunteered at four sites across Baton Rouge. Students partnered with Volunteers in Public Schools to organize the library at McKinley High School, sorted more than 20,000 pounds of food at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, built organizational shelving at Connections for Life Thrift Store, and performed general cleaning and upkeep at Cat Haven. “Pause for a Cause” is an annual day of service sponsored by the Law Center’s Public Interest Law Society in collaboration with the Student Bar Association.

Environmental Law Moot Court team places as semifinalists in national competition
March 28, 2017Congratulations to the Law Center’s National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition team of Kelsey Balzli, Taylor Herpin, and James McKenney, who placed as National Semifinalists at this year’s Environmental Moot, which was held February 23-25 in White Plains, NY! The Law Center’s Environmental Law Moot Court team is coached by Ms. Karen Blakemore (’07) of CK Associates Environmental Consultants. Entertainment and Communications Law Moot Court team places in top 16 at national competition
March 28, 2017Congratulations to the Law Center’s National Entertainment and Communications Law Moot Court Competition team of Seth Lawrence and Hannah Marler, who placed as one of the “Sweet Sixteen” teams in the National Octofinals of the competition, which were held in New York, NY from March 5-8, 2017. The team was coached by Mr. Sam Lumpkin (’13) of Kean Miller LLP. Christine Briede joins Alumni staff
March 15, 2017Christine Briede has joined the Alumni Office as a Senior Development Officer for the New Orleans, Metarie and Northshore communities. Prior to joining the Law Center, she served as development officer and Tiffany Circle director for the American Red Cross. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and fundraising. LSU Law Jessup Moot Court Team Places as Semifinalists in National Competition
