National Environmental Law Moot Court team ties for second place

The LSU Law Center’s National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) team tied for second place and were named National Finalists at this year’s competition, held Feb. 22-24 at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, New York. Team members Patrick Voelker, Molly Reinhardt, and Lindsay Rich ultimately placed as one of the Top 3 teams in the country out of the 56 law schools and more than 200 competitors who participated in the NELMCC this year. Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal to hold oral arguments at LSU Law Center on Feb. 28

The Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal announced that the First Circuit will hold oral arguments at Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center on Thursday, February 28, 2019.  The hearings will be conducted in the David Robinson Courtroom, located on the second floor of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The First Circuit is one of five Louisiana intermediate appellate courts.  The First Circuit’s territorial jurisdiction extends over sixteen parishes in the southeastern part of Louisiana.  The court is domiciled in Baton Rouge and normally holds hearings at its courthouse located at 1600 North…

Back for its second year, LSU Law's Fit to Practice Workshop shows students the 'nuts and bolts' of the legal world

The Fit to Practice Workshop is in its second year at the Law Center, and its coordinator, LSU Law’s Advocacy Fellow, Annie Scardulla, could not be more excited. “My goal is for my students to have confidence in their decisions, and to take everything they do as a learning lesson,” said Scardulla. The 8-week program is designed to give students basic knowledge concerning the life of a civil litigation case. The Battle for the Gavel has arrived! On Friday, Feb. 22, at Olympia Stadium, come out and support your LSU Law Football Club as the Gold and Purple Teams compete for the championship.
