Louisiana Bar Foundation to honor Dean Tom Galligan and alum D. Milton Moore III
November 27, 2018The Louisiana Bar Foundation named LSU Law Dean Tom Galligan as recipient of the Distinguished Professor award and alumnus Judge D. Milton Moore III (’76) as Distinguished Jurist award recipient. Both winners will be honored at the 33rd Annual Fellows Gala on April 5, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Recognition is given to those individuals who, by reason of his or her professional activities, have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession and have brought credit and honor to the legal profession. November 26, 2018Christopher Lamy served in the United States Air Force for a decade until he felt compelled to make a change. After five deployments, he wished for career that would allow him to stay at home with his family. November 26, 2018Third-year student Michael Kostruba does not shy away from honesty when asked where he sees himself in the future. After his graduation from LSU Law, Kostruba envisions a legal career with a lot of success and, yes, making a lot of money. Bethany Bunge
November 26, 2018Texas native Bethany Bunge is studying in her second year at LSU Law, but she already feels at home in Louisiana. Bunge hails from the University of Texas, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in liberal arts. During her time at UT, Bunge decided she wanted to pursue a graduate career. November 26, 2018In Elysha Spriggins’s eyes, law can be used as a means to leave an impression on the world, and that is what has inspired her to take on law school. Spriggins chose to attend LSU Law knowing that its civil law program would surely prepare her for the Louisiana Bar Exam. Extended Library Hours
November 9, 2018Beginning Monday, November 12th through Monday, December 10th, the Law Library will be open until midnight each night for the exam period. Check the Library Hours page for full details. During the exam period, the Law Library will only be open to currently enrolled law students at both LSU and Southern after 5:00 p.m. including weekends. Immigration Clinic students honored with Human Rights Award after string of recent success
November 8, 2018The LSU Immigration Law Clinic and its students were recognized for their work representing immigrants and non-citizens in their legal proceedings. On Nov. 6, the Atlas Foundation held its 15th Annual Dialogue and Friendship Dinner: Human Rights and Dialogue. At the event, the Foundation recognized the LSU Immigration Law Clinic for its work promoting and preserving the human rights of vulnerable and persecuted people by giving it the Human Rights Award. Clinic students Anne Lanier, Carter Sayers, Victoria Heyer, Whitney Moore and Natalie Awad accepted the award on behalf of current and past clinicians, and Lanier delivered the acceptance speech. “…

ABA Negotiation and National Moot Court teams bring back multiple awards
November 5, 2018Three LSU Law traveling moot court and trial advocacy teams brought back a number of award and honors from their competitions this weekend. The Tom Fore Phillips National Moot Court team (students Ashley Delaune, Justin DiCharia, and William VanDehei) competed at regional rounds of The National Moot Court Competition, which were hosted by Faulkner Law School in Montgomery, Ala. The team was coached by Prof. John Devlin and Advocacy Fellow Annie Scardulla. The team won First Place Best Brief in the region, which includes all law schools in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. The team ultimately placed as semifinalists, losing…
