Kuebel, Nickel Win 2016 Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition
October 25, 2016LSU Law second-year students Sara Kuebel and Sarah Nickel won the 2016 Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition on Oct. 24 in the Robinson Courtroom at the LSU Law Center. Kuebel and Nickel narrowly defeated their opponents, fellow 2Ls Alyssa Depew and Josie Serigne, in a challenging final round.

21 LSU Law Students Named to 2017-18 Moot Court Board
October 25, 2016Twenty-one second-year LSU Law students have been selected as members of the 2017-18 Moot Court Board. Moot Court Board membership is an academic honor awarded to those students who receive the highest cumulative scores on their appellate brief and individual oral arguments in the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition.

LSU Law's Civil Rights Trial Competition Team Places as National Quarterfinalists
October 25, 2016The LSU Law Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition Team placed as National Quarterfinalists and one of the top eight teams in the nation at the Civil Rights Trial Competition, which was held at the Supreme Court of New York, Nassau County Courthouse in Mineola, NY. The team includes Robert Glueck, Hannah Marler, Doug Nielsen and Elizabeth Wong.

Corbett Named Faculty Advisor of Louisiana Judicial College
October 24, 2016LSU Law professor Bill Corbett has been named faculty adviser of the Louisiana Judicial College, an arm of the Louisiana Supreme Court that provides continuing legal education for Louisiana judges. Corbett returns to the Judicial College after having served as Executive Director 16 years ago.

LSU Law Mourns Passing of 1958 Grad, 2013 Distinguished Achievement Winner Dick Knight
October 21, 2016Richard “Dick” Knight of Covington, LA, an esteemed 1958 graduate of the LSU Law Center, passed away on Oct. 11, 2016. Dick was dedicated to his family, his community and to the LSU Law Center. He received the 2013 LSU Law Center’s Distinguished Achievement Award, and he was a long-standing member of the Law Center’s Board of Trustees.

LSU Law SBA Raises More Than $3,500 for BRAF Flood Relief Fund

Fourth Annual Apprenticeship Week Kicks Off Jan. 9
October 11, 2016The fourth annual LSU Law Center Apprenticeship Week kicks off on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017. The week-long program offers a variety of mini-courses aimed at providing students with focused, task-oriented training not generally available in law school courses and usually available only through actual practice experience. Courses offered include many practical, hands-on topics that are taught by volunteer master lawyers and judges.

LSU Law Students Achieve State’s Highest Passage Rate on July 2016 Bar Exam
October 7, 2016LSU Law Center students achieved the state’s highest passage rate among all examinees on the latest Louisiana State Bar Exam and among first time takers, according to results released Oct. 7 by the Committee on Bar Admissions of the Supreme Court of Louisiana. The results are for test takers who sat for the statewide Bar examination in July 2016.
