A symposium on Law Making in a Global World will be held Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27 at the Lod Cook Conference Center on the LSU campus.
Presented by the LSU Louisiana Law Review, the Center of Civil Law Studies, and the LSU Law Center, the two-day symposium brings together local, national, and international experts with worldwide experience in comparative law. The distinguished group will discuss topics of law making in a global world, such as: How much does globalization affect the way laws are created? Is there a universal concept of justice? What about the legitimacy of lawmakers? Can the diversity of cultures be ignored? Can a pluralistic approach be used in mass societies? Can new and old models be reconciled?
Ample time is set aside for lively discussions and papers will be published in a special issue of the Louisiana Law Review.
The Louisiana Law Review symposium is open to the public and is free of charge. Lunch will be provided and advance registration is required.
