The lecture, “Sustainable Oil and Gas Development”, will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the David W. Robinson Courtroom. The Liskow & Lewis Visiting Professorship in Energy Law was established through a generous gift from the Liskow & Lewis law firm. The Professorship provides funds to bring distinguished scholars in energy law and closely related fields to the Law Center on an annual basis as part of the LSU John P. Laborde Energy Law Center.

“Liskow & Lewis is pleased to continue our support of the Visiting Professorship in Energy Law,” said R. Keith Jarrett, Liskow & Lewis’ Firm President and Managing Partner. “Energy law is immensely significant to businesses in our state, and we believe there are few areas of study more critical at this time. Our firm proudly supports LSU’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of this ever-developing field.”

Scott Anderson is the senior policy advisor for the Environmental Defense Fund’s U.S. Climate and Energy Program where he specializes in policies relating to natural gas development and the geological sequestration of carbon dioxide. Prior to joining EDF, Scott spent many years in the oil and gas industry serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO). He was the long-time Secretary of the LIAISON Committee of Cooperating Oil and Gas Associations and currently is a member of the Committee of Visitors for the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin.

He received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

Mark K. Boling is Executive Vice President of Southwestern Energy Company and President of Southwestern’s V+ Development Solutions division. The mission of V+ Development Solutions is to identify, develop and implement solutions to the challenges of unconventional resource development that strike an appropriate balance among the environmental, social and economic impacts of the company’s activities.

Prior to joining Southwestern in January of 2002, he was in private practice in Houston, Texas, specializing in oil and gas transactional work.
