LSU Law student Justin Mannino has been elected the new student member of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Mannino, Class of 2013, was elected to a one-year term on the governing board.
“I am truly honored to represent the Law Center as SBA President and to serve all members of the LSU community as a member of the Board of Supervisors for the 2012-2013 term. Our universities are facing increased difficulty with state and federal budget cuts to higher education, so it’s important now, more than ever, that our university leaders work with the students to protect the value of our LSU education. I hope to use my position on the Board to be an advocate and a voice for the entire LSU student body.”
He succeeds Dr. Ryan Perkins of Houma whose term expired. Mannino became a Board of Supervisors member upon election and is scheduled to be sworn in at the board meeting June 8 in Baton Rouge.
