Following their impressive performances at the 2024 Vinson & Elkins Trial Advocacy Program, 18 third-year LSU Law students have been nominated by the Trial Advocacy Program Faculty to join the LSU Law chapter of the Wex Malone Inns of Court, which was established 35 years ago and is one of roughly 175 chaptersĀ of the American Inns of Court in the United States.
“The American Inns of Court is an association of lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals from from all levels and backgrounds who share a passion for professional excellence,” said Professor Jeff Brooks, who serves as Director of the LSU Law Moot Court/Trial Advocacy Program. “Through regular meetings, members of the Inns of Court are able to build and strengthen professional relationships; discuss fundamental concerns about professional and pressing legal issues of the day; provide mentoring opportunities; and advance the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and civility. The American Inns of Court inspire the legal community to advance the rule of law by achieving the highest level of professionalism through example, education, and mentoring.”

The 2024 Vinson & Elkins Trial Advocacy Program was held at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center on Aug. 12-14. The optional three-day training session is annually offered to rising third-year law students during the week before the start of the fall semester. The intensive program is taught by leading judges and trial attorneys, covering every aspect of a civil and criminal trial, from jury selections through closing arguments.
