Melanie Anderson counts herself among the lucky few who deeply loves what they do for a living.
“Getting up every day to guide LSU Law students through their career journey is truly a joy and a privilege,” said Anderson, who joined the LSU Law staff in 2008 as Interview Coordinator in the Office of Career Services and has since been promoted to Assistant Director in 2012 and Associate Director in 2021. “To be recognized by the students this year is a huge honor.”
Anderson works closely with students to help connect them with prospective employers, refine their professional skills, and provide support as they prepare to launch their legal careers. She plays a vital role in making events such as the Fall and Spring On-Campus Interview weeks a success each year, in addition to helping develop professional growth initiatives and gathering important employment data for internal purposes and accreditation requirements.
“To be able to play even the tiniest role in your career development brings me great satisfaction,” Anderson said when asked about her message to the LSU Law Class of 2024. “I admire the determination and work ethic that got you to this day. Keep being the best version of yourself, keep reaching, and know that my door is always open to you.”
