Over 45 admitted applicants attended Visiting Day for Admitted Students on March 17 at the LSU Law Center in the McKernan Auditorium. These admitted applicants represented 10 states and over 20 undergraduate institutions with majors such as engineering, biology, education, journalism and philosophy.
Director of Admissions Jake Henry and Professor Greg Smith welcomed the students and their guests to campus. To get a taste of what law school is about, the students participated in a mock class conducted by Professor Randall Trahan. A faculty and staff panel followed which addressed matters such as financial aid, library services, and the legal clinics offered at the Law Center. A highlight of visiting day was the student panel, where current law school students shared their law school experiences and insights with the admitted students.
The admitted students also had the opportunity to attend a cocktail reception in their honor on March 16 at the home of Chancellor and Mrs. Jack Weiss. This event provided the admitted students to interact with faculty, staff and Law Center alumni.
