What are your immediate career plans?
I will be joining Kirkland & Ellis as a corporate associate in the firm’s Houston office.
Please tell us about the organizations and activities you participated in at LSU Law, including any awards or honors you received.
I was a recipient of 10 CALI Awards, I served on Louisiana Law Review as a Senior Associate—I also had a comment selected for publication—and I earned Paul M. Hebert Scholar academic honors.
Please tell us about any LSU Law faculty, classes, or other experiences that were particularly impactful on your legal education.
Professor Maggie Thomas served as my Law Review faculty advisor and always encouraged me to strive for more. She played an instrumental role in developing my legal writing skills.
As far as classes go, I will look back most fondly on Professor Tom Galligan’s Constitutional Law II course, Professor Christina Sautter’s Securities Regulation course, and Professor Cherish van Mullem’s Income Tax I course.
What are your fondest memories from your time at LSU Law?
The Hats ‘n Canes ceremony and the Law Review draft parties.
What advice would you give to students entering law school who aspire to become an Order of the Coif member when they graduate?
I would urge students to remember that law school is a long journey with one simple end goal—to maximize your performance in each course by way of a single four-hour final exam. Be proactive and take consistent steps early in the semester to be prepared for finals, which will alleviate the pressure you may otherwise feel if you start finals preparation too late.
