Please tell us about the organizations and activities you participated in at LSU Law, including any awards or honors you received.
I was Vice-President of External Competitions in the Board of Advocates. I was on the Costello National Criminal Trial team in 2022 and 2023, and we were quarterfinalists during my 3L year. I was also on the National Moot Court team in 2022 and in 2023, and in my 3L year we were regional finalists. I also was the Dean’s Cup champion in 2022, Tullis semi-finalist in 2021, and Fall Flory quarterfinalist in 2021.
Please tell us about any LSU Law faculty, classes, or other experiences that were particularly impactful on your legal education.
Two courses had a profound impact on my academic journey. First, the Juvenile Defense Clinic with Professor Jack Harrison was a great experience both in class and in the actual court room. Secondly, Constitutional Law II with Professor John Devlin was my favorite course I took from the topics covered in the classroom discussion. Outside of my coursework, my external team coaches were phenomenal mentors and teachers.
What are your fondest memories from your time at LSU Law?
Winning my suppression argument in the Juvenile Defense Clinic, advancing to the national round of National Moot Court, and winning the Dean’s Cup were my fondest memories.
What advice would you give to students entering law school who aspire to become an Order of the Barristers member when they graduate?
In advocacy, everything is so new at first and intimidating. Don’t be afraid to go out and stumble through your argument because each stumble is a learning opportunity.
