Gwendolyn Ferrell has been named interim director of Career Services and Employer Relations at the LSU Law Office of Career Services.
Ferrell joined LSU Law in October 1999 as assistant director for career counseling and has served as associate director for career services since August 2004. Through August of last year, she also served for nearly three years as LSU Title IX investigator.
“Gwen is incredibly dedicated to the success of our students and the Career Services Office,” says LSU Law Dean Tom Galligan. “She will be a fantastic interim director.”
Prior to joining LSU Law, Ferrell served in administrative roles with Lafayette General Medical Center and the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.
She was recently selected to serve as a member of 2019-2021 Board of Directors for the National Association for Law Placement. NALP is an association of over 2,500 legal career professionals from both schools and firms who advise law students, lawyers, law offices and law schools in North America and beyond. Additionally, Ferrell has been selected to serve as a University Hearing Panelist for LSU Student Advocacy and Accountability.
“It is an honor to be selected to serve as interim director of Career Services and Employer Relations for the LSU Law Center,” says Ferrell. “My passion is the success of our students and I welcome this opportunity to be instrumental in their professional development as they transition into successful attorneys. I thank Dean Galligan and the Law Center for their confidence in me to fulfill this role.”
