Come hear some of the nation’s leading military personnel discuss critical issues facing our nation and the next generations of military leaders. From cyberspace security to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. Army War College participants will share their knowledge and give you an inside look at how the military thinks and plans strategically for our nation’s safety.
The Eisenhower Series College Program is an academic outreach program of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA. A team of U.S. Army War College students, all senior military officers and civilian national security professionals, visit college campuses in the spring each year to participate in constructive, candid exchanges on current national security and military issues, focusing on their own specific area of study.
Panel members are prepared to discuss current social issues and their impact on both National Security and America’s Armed Forces. Topics will include: Diversity in the US Military and Cost Conscious Culture in the US Military; Integration of Women into Combat Positions and an Overview of the Army Reserve; and, Legal Issues of Autonomous Weapons and the Commander’s Role in Military Justice.
The Law Center has been a site of the Series since 2011.
The U.S. Army War College Eisenhower Series is brought to the LSU Law Center campus each year in part by the generous assistance of Mr. Harry J. “Skip” Phillips, Jr., who is a graduate of the LSU Law Center and a retired major general in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was last assigned as Commanding General, 377th Theater Sustainment Command, New Orleans, Louisiana, where he commanded more than 30,000 Army Reserve soldiers in the United States. He is the Army Reserve Ambassador for Louisiana.
The Law Center also welcomes the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as a partner in the program.
