LSU Law Mourns Passing of 1958 Grad, 2013 Distinguished Achievement Winner Dick Knight

A headshot photo of a man wearing a suite and tieRichard “Dick” Knight of Covington, LA, an esteemed 1958 graduate of the LSU Law Center, passed away on Oct. 11, 2016. Dick was dedicated to his family, his community and to the LSU Law Center. He received the 2013 LSU Law Center’s Distinguished Achievement Award, and he was a long-standing member of the Law Center’s Board of Trustees. He was a faithful supporter of the Chancellor’s Council and a former Chairman of the Civil Procedure Committee for the Louisiana Law Institute.

While in school he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Louisiana Law Review.

Dick practiced law for more than 42 years. He was a former Judicial Administrator for the Louisiana Supreme Court and then a partner in the Bogalusa law firm of Talley, Anthony, Hughes & Knight. He later served as CEO of Resource Bank and Chairman of the Bank and its Bank Holding Company where he worked until September 2016.

A service to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Christwood Community Center, 100 Christwood Blvd., Covington.
