The LSU Law Center’s National Environmental Moot Court team of Joseph LeBeau, Jacob LaBorde, and Paige Gallaspy recently brought home a national finalist title and placed as one of the top three teams nationwide at the National Environmental Moot Court Competition. Hosted by Pace University Law School,the competition is one of the largest inter-school moot court competitions of any kind under one roof. Seventy-eight teams from as many law schools competed in the tournament this year, with over 200 competitors combined. In addition to the national finalist title, Jacob LaBorde received a Best Oralist recognition and Joseph LeBeau received two Best Oralist recognitions.
Karen Blakemore (’07) of Phelps Dunbar LLP, coached the team. Blakemore was a member of the 2006 LSU Law team that won a national championship at the Environmental Moot Court competition.
