Jan. 6, 2014 — LSU Law kicked off its first Apprenticeship Week today, with over 130 students and 16 master lawyers and judges serving as faculty. The innovative program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about the practical aspects of legal education in focused, task-oriented, small enrollment mini-courses.
“This week is about exposing you to the way great lawyers and judges think about legal problems,” said Chancellor Jack Weiss at today’s orientation. “We want to expose you to how great lawyers and judges make choices; that’s ultimately what we do in legal practice. A second goal is to allow students and faculty to cross-pollinate, and to get to allow you, as students, to get to know this extraordinary group of lawyers and judges…Lastly, the week is about having some fun with the law,” said Chancellor Weiss.
