Loss of Eligibility
A participant is no longer eligible if he/she leaves the eligible employment prior to fulfilling a twelve-month commitment. However, the participant may submit new documentation proving a new employer meets the qualifications of the Program. A final determination on eligibility and loan continuation will be made by the Law Center’s appointed Selection Committee. Any employment status changes shall be reported by the recipient to the LSU Law Center immediately. Failure to notify the Law Center may impact funding decisions by the Louisiana Bar Foundation regarding its Kendall Vick Public Law Fund in future cycles.
An increase in compensation above $60,000, the maximum amount established by the program, will result in all or some portion of the awardee’s benefits being terminated. Under these circumstances, the committee may consider prorating an awardee’s grant, contingent upon time employed in an eligible position prior to the compensation increase.
