Marlene Krousel
Assistant Professor of Professional Practice
Biography
Marlene Krousel is a 1982 Order of the Coif graduate of the LSU Law Center where she was an Associate Editor of the Louisiana Law Review. She has taught legal writing at the LSU Law Center since 1998. She received an award from LSU for outstanding contributions to the creation and preparation of course-wide appellate and advocacy materials.
After graduating from law school, she clerked for Judge Melvin A. Shortess at the First Circuit Court of Appeal for the State of Louisiana and for Judge Frank Foil at the 19th Judicial District Court for the State of Louisiana. Following her clerkships, she practiced law for 13 years with Walter R. Krousel, Jr. and Associates in Baton Rouge. She served as President of the Family Law Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
She is a certified Attorney Mediator. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Paralegal Studies Program at Baton Rouge Community College. She is an active member of the Wex Malone Inn of Court.
