Aimee Self Pittman

Reference Librarian; Library Faculty

Biography

Aimee Self Pittman is a Reference & Legal Research Instructional Librarian at the LSU Law Library. She joined the faculty of the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2018.

Prior to her role at LSU Law, Self Pittman was a practicing attorney and served as director of a public library for over three years. She interned at the LSU Law Library while she completed her Master of Library and Information Science degree.

Self Pittman has been actively involved in teaching and instructional activities at LSU Law in addition to her role assisting students with research strategies and tools. She has taught courses such as Advanced Legal Research, Energy & Environmental Legal Research, Administrative Legal Research, and Law Practice Technology. She also presents on library and research topics as a guest lecturer at Louisiana State University as well as in presentations to legal practitioners.

Self Pittman holds a bachelor’s degree from Centre College, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law, and a master’s degree from LSU.
