Event Description

The LSU Law Center invites you to attend a special panel discussion featuring Judge Shanta Owens ('02) and Judge Shera Grant ('02), distinguished LSU Law alumnae, and trailblazers in the Alabama judiciary.

Serving on the 10th Judicial Circuit Court in Jefferson County, Alabama, Judges Owens, and Grant are the first and only identical twins to serve simultaneously as state court judges in Alabama. Judge Owens was elected in 2008 and presides over criminal court, while Judge Grant was appointed in 2016 and oversees civil matters.

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Alena Allen and hosted by the Black Law Students Association, Women Law Students Association, and 1st Gen Legal Society.
