Professor Howard W. and Jean Ann L’Enfant Scholarship

The Professor Howard W. and Jean Ann L’Enfant Scholarship was established by friends in honor of the distinguished teaching career of Professor Howard W. L’Enfant, a 1966 graduate of the LSU Law Center, and his wife, Jean Ann Tolleson L’Enfant, a 1991 graduate of the LSU Law Center.

The endowed scholarship honors Professor L’Enfant’s teaching career, spanning over four decades and including terms as Interim Chancellor, Acting Associate Dean and Vice Chancellor, and his steadfast ability to equip his students with both knowledge and confidence.

Recipients of the Scholarship must be full-time second or third-year students enrolled in the Law Center, pursuing a Juris Doctor degree and in good academic standing as defined by the Dean, with preference given to armed forces veterans and single parents. Recipients must have financial need.

Recipients may retain the Scholarship for an additional year, provided funds are available and the recipient continues to meet the above eligibility requirements. The Scholarship shall terminate when the recipient receives the pursued degree, or if the recipient fails to remain enrolled as a fulltime student (other than in the graduating semester) in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress or is placed on disciplinary probation.
