Judge J. Jay Caraway Endowed Scholarship

The Judge J. Jay Caraway Endowed Scholarship was established by Judge Caraway in January 2013.  Judge Caraway is a 1980 graduate of the Law Center.  He was elected to the Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit in 1996 where he served until 2016.  Judge Caraway represented the nine parishes in north Louisiana including Bossier, Webster and Lincoln.

The scholarship is intended to benefit a full-time student at the LSU Law Center, and financial need may be a consideration.  Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Law Center.  Students who receive the scholarship may retain it for additional years if funds are available and the recipient continues to meet eligibility requirements.
