Ben R. Miller, Jr. Endowed Scholarship

Ben R. Miller, Jr. (’61), an influential member of the Louisiana legal community for over 50 years, passed away in December 2014. He was an Order of the Coif graduate.  Mr. Miller helped to found the Baton Rouge-based Kean Miller law firm in 1983.  He taught Trusts to many students throughout his adjunct teaching career at the Law Center.  Mr. Miller was a leader in the school’s efforts to re-engage LSU Law alumni, serving as an early member of the Law Center’s Alumni Board of Trustees.  He was a long-standing member of the Chancellor’s Council.  The endowed scholarship was established by friends and family, including his wife, Bettsie Miller. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who excel as first-year students.  Financial need may be a consideration.
