William B. Owens (Bill) was born in Pineville, Louisiana in 1942 and graduated from Capitol Page School in Washington, D.C. in 1960; LSU with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1964; and the LSU Law Center with a J.D. in 1967. He also earned his LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 1971.
In the field of law, Bill is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist as well as a Board Certified Estate Planning Administration Specialist as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.
Bill is a strong supporter of LSU and the LSU Law Center. Bill has been a member of the Chancellor’s Council for many years and additionally is a member of the Board of Directors of the LSU Foundation.
To provide support for future students of the Law Center, Bill established this scholarship in 2010. Priority will be given to residents of the Central Louisiana Parishes of Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides Vernon or Winn.
