1960s

James A. George ('62), a partner—along with his wife, Judi—in the firm of George and George, Ltd. in Baton Rouge, was recently named in the 2009 Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Maritime Law. He also assumed the position of Louisiana Coordinator for the American Inns of Court Foundation, and he and Judi taught a General Law Course for Lagniappe Studies Unlimited. George will also serve on the Founding Board of Opera Louisiane, and he and his wife will both serve on the Board of Directors for the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.

James C. Walker Jr. ('64) is with the firm of Watkins, Walker & Eroche in Houma, Louisiana.

The Hon. Jay C. Zainey ('69) was recently honored as Jesuit High School's 2008 Alumnus of the Year for his work with the homeless and people with special needs.

1970s

Paul H. Spaht ('71) became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the College in Toronto, Ontario. Spaht is a partner in the Baton Rouge law firm of Kantrow, Spaht, Weaver & Blitzer.

Warren A. Perrin ('72), President of CODOFIL, was among those who led the Louisiana delegation at the World Francophone Summit in Quebec City, Canada.

John "Jock" Scott ('72) practices in Alexandria, Louisiana and teaches history at LSUA, where he is an assistant professor. He recently published his second book, Natalie Scott: A Magnificent Life, a biography of the celebrated writer and journalist.

Virginia Laughlin Schlueter ('73) became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the College in Toronto, Ontario. Schlueter is with the office of the Federal Public Defender, Eastern District, in New Orleans.

Edward J. Walters ('75) became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the College in Toronto, Ontario. Walters is a partner in the law firm of Moore, Walters, Thompson, Thomas, Papillion & Cullens in Baton Rouge.

Greg Guidry ('76) was elected Associate Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, District 1.

Glenn Armentor, 1977Glenn Armentor ('77) is the general partner and administrator for the The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation, a strictly plaintiff's personal injury litigation firm in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Michael L. Hebert ('78) owns his own law office in Baton Rouge.

David Halpern ('79) has joined McGlinchey Stafford PLLC's New Orleans office.

1980s

Henry G. Hobbs Jr. ('80) is with the U.S. Department of Justice in Austin, Texas, as Assistant U.S. Trustee.

Stephen Spring, 1981S. Stephen Spring II ('81) practices primarily as a litigator with Spring & Spring LLC in Baton Rouge. He is married with five children.

Robert Reeves, 1982Robert K. Reeves ('82) is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation–one of the world's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies.

Ted Ayo ('86) has a general practice in Abbeville, Louisiana, and is Assistant District Attorney for Vermillion Parish.

Eve Kahao Gonzalez ('87) serves as Executive Counsel to the Louisiana Public Service Commission.

Piper Griffin ('87) was recently re-elected to her second full term as judge of the Civil District Court of the Parish of Orleans.

Mary Lauve Doggett ('88) won election to the bench in the Louisiana Judicial District 9 Court in Rapides Parish.

Guy Manning, 1988Guy V. Manning ('88) owns his own law offices in Fort Worth, Texas, and specializes in patents, copyrights, and trademarks.

Craig Marcotte ('88) won election to the bench in the 1st Judicial District Court in Caddo Parish.

Ben L. Mayeaux ('88) is with the firm of Laborde & Neuner in Lafayette.

1990s

Daniel J. Ellender ('91) was recently elected as State District Court Judge for the 4th Judicial District.

Thomas W. Rigby ('92) serves as Chief Counsel for SBIC Liquidation, Office of General Counsel, U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C.

Kristin Tassin, 1996Kristin Kittrell Tassin ('96) is with the firm of Dry & Tassin PLLC in Houston, where she practices Intellectual Property Litigation and some special education advocacy work. She is married with three girls and has founded a non-profit organization called Father's Joy with her husband Shannon. The organization supports families of children with disabilities.

Anastacia Wiley, 1996Anastacia "Staci" Wiley ('96) was elected to the position of Winnfield City Judge. She has a general practice in Winnfield and has been recognized as the Winn Parish Pro Bono Attorney of the year for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, and 2007.

Catherine Calhoun ('98) and her family were honored at Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge's 15th annual "Celebrate the Family," which recognizes families who demonstrate strong family values, contribute time and resources that strengthen the community, or have triumphed over adversity.

2000s

Michelle Craig, 2002Michelle Craig ('02) is an associate at Adams and Reese LLP's New Orleans office with the Labor and Employment Practice Team. She was recently named one of the Top 50 "Women of the Year" by New Orleans City Business.

Adrien Gingles Busekist ('03) completed the New York City Marathon in November with a finishing time of 3 hours, 53 minutes. Busekist is an associate attorney with Watson, Blanche, Wilson & Posner in Baton Rouge.

Cara L. Raymond ('03) recently received the Certified Commercial Investment Member, or CCIM, designation for commercial real estate.

Melanie Finkelstein, 2006Melanie Finkelstein ('06) is with the firm of Middleberg, Riddle & Gianna in Dallas, Texas, practicing in the field of Mortgage Banking Regulatory Compliance. She recently passed the Texas Bar.

David Roberson, 2006David L. Roberson ('06) is an attorney with the firm of Bolen, Parker, Brenner, Lee & Gremillion, Ltd. in Alexandria, Louisiana.
