1970s

Ed Walters (’75), a member of Walters, Thomas, Cullens and LSU Law adjunct professor of Advanced Trial and Evidence, spoke in Quebec City, Canada on March 1 at a Louisiana State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education program entitled “Lying in Wait with a Deadly Motion: How to Win (or Lose) Your Case Before It Starts – An Interactive Audience-Participation Moving Experience,”  discussing changes to the Louisiana Motions for Summary Judgment and Motions In limine laws.

1980s

Richard J. Arsenault (’80) recently spoke on Mass Tort Resolution Options and Exit Strategies at Epiq's Mass and Class 2024 seminar in Fort Lauderdale. He will also speak at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Contemporary Issues in Complex Litigation seminar in Chicago.


Denise Akers (’85) will retire on June 30 after 30 years in partnership with Rebecca Wisbar (’86) at Akers & Wisbar in Baton Rouge.


Luke Piontek (’89) was named a 2024 Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in the Energy Law practice area. He was also included in the 2024 issues of Super Lawyers and Chambers USA.

1990s

Patrick Robinson (’94) has been named the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry’s vice president of government relations, where he oversees LABI’s Employee Relations and Health Care councils.


Lana Crump (’95), a partner at Kean Miller’s Baton Rouge office, has been named as one of nine 2024 Influential Women in Business by Baton Rouge Business Report.


Kristen Brown (’96) has been named to the board of directors for the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children.


John Bel Edwards (’99) was inducted into the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame on April 6.

2000s

Jason DeCuir (’02), co-owner of Advantous Consulting, will serve as chair of the board for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.


Blake Carl (’06) has joined the law office of Morgan & Morgan P.A. in St. Petersburg, Florida.


Blair Suire (’09), a patent and trademark attorney with Jones Walker, will be recognized as one of the honorees for The Acadiana Advocate’s Top 20 Under 40 Acadiana Leadership Award. She was recently featured in a Q&A with The Acadiana Advocate.

2010s

Colin Clark (’11) has been named as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana in the appellate division.


Alex Reinboth (’11) has been selected by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill (‘91) to serve as the Director of the Litigation Division of the Louisiana Department of Justice.


Laura Springer Brown (’12), a shareholder at Liskow, received the 2024 Outstanding Energy Professional Award from The Institute for Energy Law.


Michael Melerine (’13), an attorney at Seabaugh & Sepulvado in Shreveport, assumed office in the Louisiana House of Representatives, District Six, on Jan. 8.


Alexander Nicoll (’13) has joined AESSEAL, Inc as General Counsel for their North American operations.


Lauren Hadden (’15) has been named general counsel and vice president of government relations for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.


Elisabeth LeBlanc (’16) has joined McGlinchey Stafford’s New Orleans office as an associate practicing corporate matters including formation, governance, and operations, as well as mergers and acquisitions and securities work.


Patrick Geddes (’17), an attorney and senior counsel at Leeward Renewable Energy, was appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the Real Estate Research Advisory Committee.


Bradley C. Guin (’19) has been elected as a shareholder of Roedel Parsons Blanche Fontana & Pisano in Baton Rouge. Guin’s practice focuses on appellate and commercial litigation.

2020s

Thomas Wisecarver (’21) has joined McGlinchey Stafford’s New Orleans office as an associate in the workers’ compensation practice area.


Gabrielle Domangue (’22) graduated from NYU School of Law with her LL.M. in taxation.


Rory P. Luke, Jr. (’22) has joined Wood, Smith, Henning and Berman’s New Orleans office as an associate practicing insurance coverage and complex civil litigation.


Christen C. Triche (’22) has joined Fishman Haygood’s Baton Rouge office as an associate in the business section.
