Thomas “Tim” Barfield, Jr. (’89) was the featured guest of Baton Rouge Business Report’s "Strictly Business" webcast on May 17. Barfield, who serves as principal and president of CSRS, shared strategies for creating strength-based leadership and encouraging an innovative team culture.

Edmund J. Giering IV (’94) has been installed as treasurer of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

 

 

 

 

 


Darrell Papillion (’94) has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve a lifetime appointment in the United States District Court in New Orleans. Papillion will preside as the District Court Judge for the Eastern District Court.

 

 

 

 

 


Mike Johnson (’98), who represents Louisiana’s 4th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, served as the keynote speaker of two Louisiana Tech University spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 20, in the Thomas Assembly Center on the Louisiana Tech campus.

 

 

 

 

 

2000s

Andrea Beauchamp Carroll (’00), LSU Law Associate Dean for Student and Academic Affairs, was named the Louisiana Bar Foundation’s 2022 Distinguished Professor at the LBF's 37th Annual Fellows Gala on April 21.

 

 

 

 

 


Melissa M. Grand (’09) has been elected as a shareholder in Baker Donelson’s Baton Rouge office. She represents independent schools, charter schools, charter school management organizations, and other educational institutions.

2010s

Louise Hines Myers (’10) was elected as a judge on the 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge Parish.

 

 

 

 

 


Steven Beauregard “Beaux” Jones (’11) has been selected as interim CEO of The Water Institute of the Gulf. He formerly served as chief of staff and general counsel for the institute.

 

 

 

 

 


Spencer King (’14) was named partner of King & Jurgens in New Orleans. King’s practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation and casualty defense.

 

 

 

 

 


Patrick H. Willis (’14) was elected as a shareholder in Baker Donelson’s New Orleans office. He focuses on advising and representing clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, joint ventures, reorganizations, and other general corporate matters.


Anna Grand (’15) has been promoted to partner with Gibson Law Partners. Her practice areas include professional liability, commercial litigation and general casualty defense.

 

 

 

 

 


Christopher Vitenas (’15) has been elected as a shareholder in Baker Donelson’s Baton Rouge office. He is a member of the firm's Construction Law Group and focuses on construction law, commercial litigation, and appellate work.

Jacquelyn D. Cook (’18) has been promoted to senior associate with Gibson Law Partners. Her practice areas include professional liability litigation and commercial litigation.

Mary Gentry (’21) has joined Baker Donelson’s Baton Rouge office as an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group, where she assists clients in employment-related matters.

 

 

 

 


Charles Peterson (’22) has joined Collins Einhorn Farrell PC in Southfield, Michigan, as a member practicing the defense of asbestos bodily injury cases.

 

 

 

 

 


Gage Stewart (’22) has joined Veron Bice in Lake Charles. His practice areas include commercial litigation, personal injury and oil and gas litigation.
