1970s

Judge William J. Burris (’73) will be inducted into the Louisiana Justice Hall of Fame at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on June 2, 2023. Judge Burris is one of eight to be inducted this year and the only inductee from the New Orleans area.

1980s

Richard Arsenault (’80) received the 2023 Avvo Rated Top Lawyer rating and was invited to serve another three-year term on the National Board of Trial Advocacy's Complex Litigation Specialty Program.

 


Thomas Lenz (’88) and his Pasadena, California based firm, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, were named to the Top Attorneys 2023 list in Pasadena Magazine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

1990s

Lisa Flood (’93) will receive the 2023 Regina Matrum Award from the Council of Catholic Schools. The Regina Matrum Award is given once a year to a woman from the Archdiocese who embodies the characteristics of Catholic motherhood.

 

 

 

 

 


Darrel J. Papillion (’94), a partner in the Baton Rouge law firm Walters, Papillion, Thomas, Cullens, has been nominated by President Joe Biden to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana as a trial judge.

 

 

 

 

 


Karleen Green (’97), a partner at Phelps Dunbar, made the Lawyers of Color 2023 Power List. One of the only comprehensive collections of minority leaders in the legal profession, the list recognizes influential attorneys who are pushing diversity forward in the practice of law.

 

 

 

 


Wiley Richmond Beevers (’98), Chief of Cargo Security, Carriers and Restricted Merchandise Branch, represented U.S. Customs and Border Protection as part of the U.S. delegation to the 47th Session of the International Maritime Organization Facilitation Committee, March 13-17 in London, England.  The Facilitation Committee deals with matters related to the facilitation of international maritime traffic including the arrival, stay and departure of ships, persons and cargo from ports. The Committee also addresses electronic business, including the single window concept, and the facilitation of international maritime trade.

2000s

Aaron Ellis (’01) announced his candidacy for Louisiana State Representative, District 95.

 

 

 

 

 


Kristi W. Richard (’09), a McGlinchey Stafford member and full-time professor of Business Law at Louisiana State University, will participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)’s 2023 class of Fellows, a landmark program to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

2010s

Katie Gravois Plaisance (’12) has joined Investar Bank as general counsel where she will provide strategic legal counsel to the bank, its officers and directors in developing, administering, and monitoring programs and services in compliance with laws, regulations and rules governing institutional operations.

 

 

 

 


Justin Ward (’13) has been elected to partnership in Morris, Manning & Martin in Atlanta.

 

 

 

 

 

2020s

Marion Brummal, IV (’20) has joined Beasley Allen Law Firm in Montgomery, Alabama as a new staff attorney in the Toxic Torts Section, where he assists in handling Camp Lejeune claims.
